Hi, This is Firoz Mahmud.
I have been working as a Data Analyst at the Department of Social Services since November 2024. My responsibilities include:
- Managing the complete data and analytics lifecycle, covering extraction, analysis, and modelling, to drive data-informed decision-making and meet departmental reporting obligations.
- Establishing and validating critical data parameters, including setting variables, testing values, and defining/verifying value labels to ensure consistent data integrity and usability across all projects.
- Leading data and intelligence projects, coordinating with internal stakeholders to define requirements, ensure data governance, and deliver tailored project outcomes.
- Communicating complex insights by producing accessible materials, including dashboards, visualisations, and reports, tailored for various audiences and decision-makers.
Prior to joining the Department of Social Services, I served as an Analyst at Seeing Machines. Previously, I was a Graduate Researcher in Computer Science at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) in Canberra, Australia. Before moving to Australia, I worked in Bangladesh as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). Alongside my teaching duties, I also served as a CCNA Instructor at the Cisco Local Academy, RUET, and as an ICT Trainer at the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC).
